On robots, pick-and-place units and similar equipment, hose failure is usually bending fatigue rather than pressure.

Selection and maintenance points:

1. Use flexible constructions with a small bend radius instead of forcing a standard hose to bend tightly.
2. Allow enough length so the hose is not in tension at either end of the travel.
3. Fit sleeves or cable-carrier guides at bending points to avoid repeated rubbing against the frame.
4. Keep pressure peaks within the rated value — surge adds to bending fatigue.
5. Inspect regularly for cover wear, blisters and loose fittings, and replace by condition rather than waiting for a leak.

Xuantone can recommend types by travel, media and pressure, and supply the assemblies.
