Impulse life — the ability to survive repeated pressure cycles — is the most commonly overlooked item in hose selection. The main factors:
1. Pressure peaks. Surges from starts, stops and valve shifts above the rated value cut life dramatically. Select by peak pressure, not average.
2. Bend radius. Below the specified minimum, stress concentrates in the outer wire layer — a classic cause of early failure.
3. Twist and tension. Twisting adds torque; insufficient length keeps the hose permanently in tension.
4. Temperature and media. Oil temperature outside the range or incompatible media accelerates tube ageing.
5. Crimp quality. Wrong crimp size creates a weak point at the fitting.
Xuantone can recommend types by system pressure, media and routing. Impulse figures depend on test conditions and follow the specification sheet.
