Mixing EN, SAE and GB standards in one enquiry is the most common source of quoting delays. Below are the usual equivalents — substitution must still be confirmed by pressure rating and dimensions.
Braided hose: EN 853 1SN/2SN corresponds to SAE 100R1AT/R2AT and to the one- and two-wire braid types of GB/T 3683. EN 857 1SC/2SC are compact braided hoses with smaller outside diameter for tight routing.
Spiral hose: EN 856 4SP for medium-high pressure, EN 856 4SH for ultra-high pressure; SAE 100R9/R12/R13/R15 are multi-layer spiral series with R15 in the ultra-high pressure range. GB/T 10544 is the corresponding national standard for spiral hose.
Before substituting: 1) never match by name similarity alone — verify rated working pressure and impulse requirements; 2) check outside diameter and minimum bend radius, compact and standard types are not interchangeable; 3) match the fitting standard (DIN, SAE, BSP, JIS, ORFS, flange) to the equipment port.
When inquiring, state standard model, bore, working pressure, length, fitting type and media temperature for an accurate quotation.
